Gary Player Group

New websites for the enterprises of one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Strategy

The enterprises of the Gary Player Group and his stature as one of golf’s all-time greats make GPG a high-end luxury brand. As tireless a businessman as he has been an athlete, Gary Player needed a site to showcase the many facets of the man and his enterprises: golf course design, real estate services, his philanthropic foundation and more. There were also ecommerce needs, and tons of multimedia that needed consolidating.

Paramore|Redd, after extensive research and Discovery with key folks at GPG, decided a unified site consistent with the branding of GP’s famous nickname - The Black Knight - would include what would really be mini-sites for each of his far-flung enterprises. We decided to bring the multimedia together under a new Player TV. We also recognized the need for a more user-friendly and robust content management system, as GP is so active that updates are needed almost daily.

Results

The all-new GaryPlayer.com. A rich site that allows users to experience the world of Gary Player from almost any angle: the man and his rich golf history or via any of his main enterprises. Each has elegant tools to facilitate smooth exploration of its tremendous amount of content. We revamped and improved the Gary Player Store and designed and integrated Player TV for the extensive amount of multimedia. All on-time and on budget. We even got invited to the annual Christmas party. (That is a story in itself. Two words: synchronized swimmers. Oh, and site design lead Brad Haynes getting dumped in the pool.)

This success of this project led GPG to bring us on board for the creation of two more projects: a site for Ian Baker-Finch and another for the Gary Player Invitational, one of his signature worldwide events.
