Really. This is getting ridiculous. I know better than to let a blog lay dormant. I preach all the time about the need to COMMIT to blogging. But the truth is that it’s a bigger commitment than even I thought. And the bottom line is this -

Everybody wants one. But when they get it, they don’t know what to do with it – even after training. This is what we are seeing with our clients. While a CMS is expected in website development, it’s ludicrous to think that companies who are almost always strapped with too few people in marketing, not to mention the uber vertical of online marketing, will have the time to strategize how to use their new site AND possess the design skills necessary to ensure a good page layout, well-cropped photos and witty, appropriate copy.

Clients just go crazy over the idea of a type of media that is measurable and flexible. Knowing exactly how many times people have seen your ad (whether it’s an email, a banner, a search ad or a co-registration ad) is great. Knowing how many times people click on it – or open it – is even better. Counting up the sales or completed lead forms is a lot of fun. Sometimes.
