Today we launched the new site for United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, and we’re so happy about that, not only because it’s a great site, but it’s a great cause.
United Way is the leading health and human services provider in the nation, focusing on education, income, health and neighborhoods. They are an integral part of our community and serve the most vulnerable in our society through agency partnerships with other non-profits that are feet on the street. PLUS they support programs such as PENCIL and Read to Succeed, which directly impact school children.
There are many ways you can get involved in United Way and I want to personally challenge you to seriously consider how you can make a contribution of money or time to an organization where both are leveraged exponentially so the impact is real and not just perceived. Nobody has money or time to waste. Banding together with an organization whose impact is proven is the best investment of both.
Folks, we need United Way in our communities.
We need them to thrive. It’s an investment. It’s compassion, relationships, a helping hand. And you never know when you will be directly impacted by them. Will you be the one who needs assistance in budgeting and maximizing your income? Will you find yourself without health insurance and need help there? Will you or your children or grandchildren need help with school supplies?
You never know.
But you can know this - if you do, United Way and its partners will be there to help you.
Here is a way to help out starting right now:
United Way of Metropolitan Nashville is collecting food through tomorrow (09/11/2009) for their Day of Action. Feel free to bring non perishable items by the Paramore | Redd office and we will make sure they arrive at United Way!
Thanks for listening.
