Today Paramore|Redd will be inducted into the Future 50 Hall of Fame.  This means we’ve won Future 50 for the 5th time and we can’t win anymore.  This is a Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce award which honors the 50 fastest growing companies in Middle Tennessee.  One of the things I like about this award is that it’s based on results, just like our company (see tag line, simple, clear and focused on results).

To say that I am proud of this would be, well, an understatement.  Our company is about 7.5 years old.  When we won for the first time I started to stress immediately because I read the rules and found out that after 5 times you get in the Hall of Fame.  Now, it doesn’t say you have to win 5 times in a row, but I’m thinking that’s exactly what I want to do and so the stress.

And that’s exactly what we did - 5 years in a row - which I guess is no small feat.  So let me tell you from my perspective how we did this because I know you are all wondering and won’t be able to move on without all the details, so this is really for YOU.

First we hired the right people. Our group is like a bunch of wild animals.  Those who survive and thrive are the ones who make it through the process of natural selection.  We have a group of people who expect so much of themselves that they have become self-policing.  These brave folks have taken the risk to work for a small business and come in every day feeling like they own the place.  They basically do.

Next, along the way we got great clients who trust us and challenge us.  Living together through long development projects isn’t as easy as you’d think.  Media campaigns can go awry and it’s nobody’s fault.  Over the years our clients have paid us to do what we love and we feel like we are gettin’ over on everybody.  Thanks for trusting us.

Then, we had partners along the way, both formal partners and the just-because-they-liked-us kind. Folks like BOHAN Advertising|Marketing, Bytes of Knowledge, EMMA, just to name a few.  Other businesses that took an interest in us and helped us be successful.  We haven’t forgotten that, folks.

Finally, we are headquartered in a city that truly cares about small business. In particular, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneur’s Organization have been extremely influential on me personally and on our business.  There is no replacing being a part of a community that cares about you both corporately and personally.  So thank you too for your help.

During the first 7 years of this business I had a business partner who worked hip to hip with me.  The fact that kidd redd has moved on to start a new thing is both happy and sad.  kidd, I know what you did.  Thank you.
