Steve Chandler and Mandy Butters… two names that will melt in your mouth in no time. We’re more than happy (I’m actually doing the jiggy dance in my office at this exact moment) that these two very experienced marketing folks have joined us. Here’s a bit about them and why you’re lucky they’re here too:

Today Paramore|Redd will be inducted into the Future 50 Hall of Fame. This means we’ve won Future 50 for the 5th time and we can’t win anymore. This is a Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce award which honors the 50 fastest growing companies in Middle Tennessee. One of the things I like about this award is that it’s based on results, just like our company (see tag line, simple, clear and focused on results).
To say that I am proud of this would be, well, an understatement. Our company is about 7.5 years old. When we won for the first time I started to stress immediately because I read the rules and found out that after 5 times you get in the Hall of Fame. Now, it doesn’t say you have to win 5 times in a row, but I’m thinking that’s exactly what I want to do and so the stress.

Today we launched the new site for United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, and we’re so happy about that, no only because it’s a great site, but it’s a great cause.

All of life is timing. A second too early and you look goofy. A few seconds too late and you’re disrespectful. Make that a few minutes and you could have missed the opportunity altogether.
Well, this time we got it right - hired Justin Briggs, our SEO expert, mere minutes before he won a national award for search engine marketing.

I’ve noticed something over the years. Confusion and complexity muck up a sales process. Ever try to get somebody to buy something they were totally confused about? Doesn’t work too well, does it? This is particularly true when it comes to digital marketing.

After two weeks of vacation at the beautiful, sunny, 75-degree Mayan Riviera on the coast of Mexico with my husband and partner, I headed home Saturday thinking about the keynote presentation I’ll give today in Raleigh, North Carolina at the North Carolina Governor’s Conference on Hospitality and Tourism.

On March 2, I’ll be in Raleigh, North Carolina speaking to the fine folks responsible for the success of the tourism industry in that beautiful state. And I know how pretty North Carolina is - I was born there. And though I grew up in Nashville, most people in my family still live there…my father in Wilmington, my grandmother, aunts and cousins around Greenville, and another set in Raleigh. So I’m excited to travel back and hang out for a while.

It’s 2009, wasn’t email supposed to be dead by now? That’s what we’ve heard over the past four years as other technologies emerged that promised to surpass email as a marketing vehicle (RSS? Really?). So why is it still around? Why, after legislation that governs it (see below for my soapbox on THIS), and pundits that pan it, is this advertising vehicle projected to continue to grow every year for the foreseeable future? Here’s what I think:

Physician heal thyself! We did and now we’re in post-op physical therapy. I’m talking about our new website which I hope you find interesting and inspiring. Being your own client is an eye opening and, sometimes, painful experience. But it’s the best way to see yourselves the way your clients see you, which is the painful part.
